English Institute of Sport- (EIS)

 

The English Institute of Sport is a nationwide network of world class support services, designed to further the talents of elite athletes. Support services are offered via nine regional multi-sport sites and an evolving network of satellite centres.

Led by Steve Cram it is a pro-active organisation dedicated to realising the potential of today's modern competitors. It's High Performance training venues are the platforms for success. The services are delivered by a co-ordinated network of regional teams.

The services supplied by the EIS includes both sports science and medicine, spanning applied physiology, biomechanics, medical screening, medical consultations, nutritional advice , psychology, strength and conditioning, sports massage and sports vision to name but a few.

The EIS is developing close relationships with national governing bodies, performance directors and athletes to ensure that the service provided is of the highest quality. Almost 2,000 competitors are currently using the EIS.

The EIS task is to provide world class services to athletes supported by the world class performance programme.

Its primary services are medical services which are provided by the EIS, although it offers supplementary services these are often provided via a consultant.
