BWLA Performance Assessment
Once a lifter has been establishes as IPC eligible an assessment will be
conducted on their medal potential for the forthcoming Paralympic Games, based
on their performances recorded in IPC competitions or listed on the IPC
Powerlifting rankings. This assessment will take the following form:
A record of the lifter's performances and their growth within IPC Competitions
over the previous 18 months
A comparison between the lifter's performances will be compared to medal
places within the Paralympic or World Championships, (related to their body
weight category).
A calculation of the projected growth within each weight category, for the
forthcoming Paralympic Games, will be conducted based on the Paralympic medal
results over previous consecutive Paralympic Games or IPC World Championships.
A comparison between the lifter's performances and their projected Paralympic
medal performances, in their body weight category, will be conducted.
The performance growth of the lifters will be compared to the growth within
their body weight category, to establish if the lifters potential for future
growth is higher and therefore more likely to improve their position on the
ranking lists.
The minimum requirements for a lifter to be considered for selection onto the
